LUT Lori Smith
Lori Smith is the Spiritual Leader and a Licensed Unity Teacher as a specialist in Pastoral Care at Unity on the Avenue Spiritual Center. She seeks to inspire and encourage the spiritual journey of all who attend Unity on the Avenue. As a SpiritGroup Program Leader with a passion for facilitating the small group ministry, she has also trained other Hosts to lead groups. She attended Unity of Phoenix Spiritual Center in Arizona until her move to Denver in 2018. She then joined the community at Unity on the Avenue, becoming a Prayer Chaplain in 2019. She was installed as a Licensed Unity Teacher in 2024.
Service to the larger community has always been an important aspect of Lori’s spiritual practice. She has been involved in several nonprofits in the Denver area, including serving as Board Secretary for Colorado Feeding Kids.
After completing her master’s degree in counseling in 2003, Lori worked as a trauma counselor. She also managed a program that assisted youth with behavioral health challenges. In her private practice, she treated clients with a variety of mental health concerns.
Lori is a lifelong learner with a commitment to continue her spiritual development and support all people looking for growth, development, and a closer connection to God in an environment of a loving, spiritual community.
